Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands is a self governing archipelago and part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It lies north of the United Kingdom and east of Iceland in the North Atlantic. Due to its sub-polar location the climate is typically windy, wet, cloudy, and cool. This provides a particularly desirable outcome for aspiring photographers. However, during our stay we were surprised with mostly sunny days and only a few moody moments.

One of the main reasons for visiting this remote place was to experience its unique culture and visit the abundant puffin colony located on Mykines, the westernmost island of the 18 island archipelago. Even though we were able to see a majority of the islands during our seven day visit, the moment we boarded the airplane I knew I wanted to one day return to this amazing place.
